My Spring Break Essentials

I bought a plane ticket to Florida on a whim last week, so me and my best friend from college are going to have a lovely weekend together in Naples. I am excited. Honestly, January and February are the most boring months ever, so it's nice to have something to look forward to right before springtime begins!

I have been going to Naples since college, and my friend group reunited last year for another long weekend at the beach, too. This year, it's just two out of eight of us (don't y'all hate it when people have more exciting lives than your own).

I'm not really doing anything special to prepare this year - I'll get a tan for sure, but beyond that, I'm not going to do any extra shopping for the trip. That's the beauty of a low maintenance girl's weekend!

First things first - even before you go on spring break, fake tanning is soooooo necessary. In college I spray tanned, last year I used my favorite St. Tropez Express Bronzing Mousse, and this year I'm still deciding. Spring break happens to occur when we're all at our palest, and there's nothing worse than trying on bikinis when you're pale and just starting to work on our summer bodies. A nice tan makes everyone look more toned, plus it gets you in the spring and summer mood!

I'm really into red lately - I never wear it, but I love the idea of super bright red for spring and summer. I bought this bikini on sale from J. Crew and it is RED. I have the same style in black, and if you're looking for a perfect, classic string bikini, I highly recommend this one. Also, J. Crew always has sales going on - ideal.

A one piece is also a good idea to pack on spring break because 1. they look adorable in pictures and 2. sunburns are very real. I had a huge one piece obsession when I was in college, specifically super obnoxious ones, so dialing it back this year is a very tempting option. I love this classic bandeau, and it comes in SEVEN colors!

I love this Lilly Pulitzer dress - it can be dressed down as a coverup, and dressed up with wedges for nighttime. So cute. For nighttime, I really like this one shoulder romper from Lulus. Be careful with white and spray tans, though!! Also, remember to pack a light jacket (my favorite denim jacket from Gap is currently on sale).

Lastly, REMEMBER SUNSCREEN! I have been using this Beautycounter sunscreen for about a year now and I'm obsessed.

What are y'alls spring break essentials? Going anywhere fun this year? Let me know!
