What to Wear: NFL Game

This Sunday, I am headed to my first Carolina Panthers game, which is also my NFL game ever. I am definitely a college football girl, but now that I am an official North Carolina resident, I felt like I should support our regional team. Plus, I can literally see the Panthers stadium from my apartment. It's crazy.

My dad is coming down for the weekend, and we're going to the Panthers v. Falcons game on Sunday. I am very excited. I have been wanting to go to a game all season, but my friends and I could never get our acts together and actually go

I am working on my outfit, but I'm not being super imaginative - I just got these boots on sale from Nordstrom Rack and they're definitely a little extra for a football game. Whatever. They're cute and fun and it is my goal to actually wear over-the-knee boots every day this fall.

Honestly, if you have a jersey, wear it. I got a Newton jersey from eBay because I'm cheap. I'll be wearing it with black pants, whether they be leggings or jeans...I haven't decided yet.

Obviously, depending on your location geographically and your location on the field, you're going to have to dress weather appropriately. Since it is already November (LITERALLY insane how fast this year is going by), a jacket is probably going to be necessary. I love the J. Crew Field Jacket for chillier temperatures, and the Barbour Beadnell jacket as a classic choice.

If you're not going the jersey route, I am really loving the idea of a black turtleneck and a shearling vest. Like, when I was writing this post, it occurred to me how much I like this outfit, and how much I need this outfit. There are a ton of shearling vest options at Nordstrom, and my favorite is this one.

In terms of shoes, I think that tall boots are the way to go if you're trying to look stylish. A low heel or flat are probably the best choices, if you're going to be walking a lot or tailgating. Obviously these boots are perfect and amazing and definitely an investment piece, but Steve Madden has great less expensive alternatives.

Bags are tricky. I know that you're not even allowed to carry in a real purse to the Panthers stadium - that is, unless it's clear and you can actually see everything that's in the bag. I found this purse at JC Penny, but a lot of other stores have clear "jelly" bags (so 2006) that will work great, too. I'm not even planning on taking anything but my phone...maybe my ID, but I'll put it in my Dad's wallet.

Lastly, if you're having good weather, sunglasses are necessary. It's supposed to be a high of 70 and sunny on Sunday for the game I'm going to, so I will definitely be wearing my favorite sunglasses of all time.

What are y'alls go-to outfits for football games? It's definitely a change in pace from college games - that was basically a fashion show!

Happy November 1st!
