The Perfect Essie Nail Colors for Fall

I have consistently had my nails done since I was a senior in high school.

6 years. I have had my nails done for 6 years.

I'm honestly shocked my nails haven't fallen off yet. I only get gel manicures too, which adds insult to injury. Obviously I've ignored the philosophy of "too much of a good thing is bad for you."

To my defense, I have very strong nails, I get all my vitamins daily, and take Biotin religiously. I haven't seen any negative effects to my nails, so until I do, I'm going to keep on keeping on.

Now that it's fall, it's finally time to break out the dark, slightly morbid nail colors that look amazing with everything. I try to stick to a light pink from April to September, and the rest of the year experiment with various shades of reallyyy dark red, grey, and navy.

A good light pink color goes miles. You can literally wear it for any occasion and it will look appropriate, plus when it grows out a bit, it's not as noticeable. My favorite lighter Essie colors are Limo-Scene, Ballet Slippers, and Mademoiselle

If you don't want to go the full-dark route, a nice grey tone is a great option. Grey-greens and purples look so cool. I love Petal Pushers, Smokin' Hot, and Without a Stitch.

I typically wear dark red until Christmas, and then go even darker after New Year's. Bordeaux is my favorite dark red, but similar options include Shearling Darling, Devil's Advocate and Macks. If you're looking for a true red, A-List and Russian Roulette are perfect.

Lastly, you can't go wrong with dark navy. Obsessed with Midnight Cami. It's close enough to black nail polish without actually going full black (unless you're into that, in which case, choose Licorice).

What color do y'all like to wear in the fall? Let me know!!
