My Living Room

Hello and happy Tuesday. Next up on my apartment tour is my living room. Get ready,  because there are a lot of pictures.

My apartment is large.

Unintentionally large.

I am not very good at estimating size based off of square footage. This is important. Also, I had 10 days between the time that I got a job offer in Charlotte to when I actually moved. I pretty much just jumped at the opportunity to actually get an apartment rather than really figure out the details.

I'll do that for apartment #2.

Regardless, I have 925 square feet just for little ole me. It is WAY too much space, and honestly takes a lot of work to decorate.

White walls everywhere. So much white walls.

IKEA, like always, was my best friend. When my parents helped move me in, we got the Ektorp Sofa ith the dark grey slipcover, and the Kallax Shelf Unit as my TV console. I love the fact that IKEA has slipcovers, since I know I'll get bored after a while with my current choice - fingers crossed they get a pink one!

When my mom visited again last week, we replaced my original "coffee tables" with the Klingsbo Coffee Table. I was really looking for a coffee table with a glass top, especially one that could take up floor space.

Still working on styling the coffee table - to be continued.

We put two Kallax shelf units next to each other (one horizontal, one vertical) to build the TV console.

The artwork to the right of the TV was from my room in Connecticut, and the rest my mother found at Homegoods. The black garden stool is also from Homegoods.

I couldn't find the exact IKEA table I have, but it's really more a decorative object. Again, there is so much room in my living room. The chairs I have are also from IKEA (shock).

The artwork around the back area of my living room is from two Etsy shops: The Remedy House and Beach House Gallery.

Sticking with the theme, the artwork above my couch is from Homegoods. I had another painting above it for a while, but we moved it to my bedroom last week - stay tuned for a future post on my bedroom decoration!

I have two chairs in my living room - one is a folding chair from Target (currently unavailable), and the other is the chair-version of my sofa.

I love my new living room - it now feels so much homier!

If y'all have any questions on where I bought each item, let me know! There's a lot to cover in a post like this!

  1. I love your space! It looks very well decorated for how quickly you moved down here and settled back into NC. Jess at Just Jess

  2. Love how you made the entertainment stand out of the shelving unit. I wish I would have thought of the when I was looking for one recently.
