what to wear + st. patrick's day

Tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day, and for all of you who will be drinking Guinness at some Irish bar tomorrow night, it's the one day a year where it's pretty much required to wear green.

Which is way, like usual, I will be wearing black.

I'm going to a St. Patty's Day party at a friend's apartment. Guys, I tried. I really did. I searched for like two weeks for green tops to wear to this party. Nothing. I could not find anything I would actually consider purchasing which is a real shame because I actually do like wearing green! I was totally open to wearing something brighter, but the world of retail was not on my side.

Last year's inspired themed outfit
This is only my second year celebrating St. Patrick's Day, and last year I borrowed a green top from a sorority sister. Green is hard to find! It's also tough because green on a computer screen is way different than green in real life. I wasn't willing to take that chance. Instead, I'm wearing this top in black (which is really more like dark gray, idk what colorblind person thought this top was actually black), jeans, and booties with some fun four leaf clover necklaces so I can at least pretend to be into this holiday. My last name is literally Holliday, I should be way more festive.

The green I was looking for was a perfect British racing green. Couldn't find it anywhere. There is an abundance of olive green, let me tell you. I'm not opposed to it, it just didn't fit in with my outfit vision.

The formula for this particular event is a green top + jeans + booties. Simple, comfortable, non-offensive, easy. If you're doing a bar crawl (a lot of my friends were in Chicago and Charlotte last weekend decked out in full leprechaun outfits), then you should maybe be a little bit more outragous...maybe even a t-shirt with something about being Irish on it? Idk not really my thing SO that's where my formula comes in! Easy breezy beautiful.

Have fun, stay safe, drink like you're Irish, and maybe I'll actually take pictures at this party to show y'all!
