In the quest to figure out my next moves in life, obviously obtaining (and more importantly, decorating) an apartment is high on the to-do list.
I love coffee table books. Love them love them love them. I think they're so fun to flip through, and I constantly look through them for style, beauty, and lifestyle inspirations.
I've collected quite a few style and design books throughout the years, and definitely have my favorites. Here are a few of my top picks, as well as a list of my next purchases!
I have been following Garance Dore's blog for years and I was so happy I finally got my hands on her new book, Love x Style x Life. It's a treat to read, and has so many great tips for style and beauty. A definite must have!!!
Not shocking that I have the Barbie book. It's so fun.
I got the Resort Fashion book when I was in high school and absolutely love it. If you follow A Bikini A Day, this is the book for you!
Lastly, Kate Spade had a series of three books, Style, Manners, and Occasions that I've probably had for over ten years now (what). Style is my personal favorite, because there are great tips and tricks for closet organization (something I desperately need), personal style, and must-have items.
Another book I've had since middle school, if not earlier, is The One Hundred by Nina Garcia. As an avid Project Runway watcher when I was younger, of course I knew who Nina Garcia was, and of course her word was law. The One Hundred details the top 100 items every girl needs in her closet, ranging from accessories to swimwear to everything in between. I should probably check out the list again since I'm updating my wardrobe!
Elements of Style is becoming a must-read now that I'm focused on learning more about interior design. Just look at those leopard print stairs they kill me I love them.
All in Good Taste is like an extension of Kate Spade's Occassion and Manners books. A perfect coffee table book considering the cover is so cute!
When I was in high school, I had a major obsession with Grace Kelly. To Catch a Thief was my favorite movie (that blue dress though) and it led to me and my family watching tons of Alfred Hitchcock movies. Hitchcock Style goes through all of the iconic looks from his movies.
Places To Go People To See fueled my wanderlust even more...great pictures and how-to's for traveling.
What's next on my to-buy list?
Have a great Tuesday! I'm in bed with a little viral infection which is a shame, but I've begun to watch/catch-up on Downton Abbey (already on season two, wow) so it's nice to apply to jobs while watching something interesting!
