I normally don't like to keep food in my room because there's no doubt I'm going to eat it as soon as I buy it. But, I've gotten really good at keeping a nice variety of health food available so I never skip breakfast and for when I need a little pick me up. Here are my favorite healthy foods to keep in your dorm room.
Avocados So good and so good for you!
Bread So I broke a dorm room rule and bought myself a toaster. They're not allowed on campus, which is dumb, and I really really wanted toast. I pretty much survive on avocado toast and gluten free english muffins when I'm home for breaks and feel so much better/healthier, and the missing link was a toaster. Thanks to Target, I now have avocado toast all the time!
English Muffins My favorite kind is Glutino. It's odd but so delicious, especially with avocado or almond butter and honey.
Almond Butter From Justin's. Plain is good, vanilla is better.
Popcorn I love Skinny Pop. I mostly buy the jumbo bag with miniature 100-calorie packs inside it. I also recently tried the Skinny Girl microwavable popcorn and it was great. I thought Skinny Girl just made alcoholic beverages but fortunately I was wrong!
Pears So, weird fact about me. My biggest fear is having my teeth break slash fall out. This means I don't like biting into apples because I feel like something bad is going to happen to my teeth. Don't ask me why, I have no idea. However, pears are the perfect alternative because they're like apples, just super soft! Plus my trainer fully believes in the health benefits of having a pear a day.
Yogurt I used to have Chobani plain yogurt all the time in my room. It's perfect for breakfast or a mid-day snack.
Rice Chex Another gluten free snack. I keep Rice Chex in a large container and munch on it throughout the day.
