style + tie me up

I've worn this outfit multiple time this summer tbh. At the beginning of the summer, my mother and I went into Jack Wills on a whim and came out with this shorts! I was able to wear them to work, which is an added bonus.

Not gonna lie, not the biggest fan of Jack Wills as a whole, but three of my favorite items of clothing ever are from them. There are a couple of JW stores in Connecticut, so I usually pop in a couple of times a year to see if there's anything I like.

You can wear these shorts with a tank, a white button down or blouse, a t-shirt...pretty basic options but it's one of those items cat can be worn a lot and goes with a lot.

style + off the shoulder crop

I think I go on Revolve every single day and inevitably end up spending way too much money on clothes I'm not sure I really need. However, I am crazy obsessed with the off the shoulder top I bought a couple weeks ago. It's really comfortable and the colors are extremely flattering.

I think I've worn this outfit three times in the past two weeks. I will take any chance to wear denim shorts. The top is a little bit cropped, so it looks really good with high waisted shorts.

style + the seersucker dress

When my mother and I went to Kiawah Island in May, I bought this dress from the Southern Tide store in Freshfields Market.

This dress brings me back to my uber preppy roots. It's so cute and girly, and you really can't go wrong with seersucker in the summer.

style + jeans style guide

I'm on the never-ending hunt for perfect jeans, yet again. One of my favorite websites in the entire world, Revolve, has an excellent selection and is my go-to for everything. This summer, I bought a pair of white distressed jeans and a pair of skinny legging jeans, and I love them both! But, I still have to grow the collection and maybe I'll finally be happy with the jeans hanging in my closet.

style + the printed jumpsuit

Tobi had a was 50% off...I was in need of a jumpsuit...and here we are. Loooooove this outfit.

Depending on the style, jumpsuits can be extremely flattering. Paired with wedges, they can make legs look miles long!

I think I'll be able to dress this up and down. Wedges and hoops can be for going out, and a denim jacket and gladiator sandals are great for when it's not so terribly hot outside.

beauty + naked smokey

After posting my daily makeup routine, I found myself slowing not wearing hardly any makeup at all.    I just stopped caring about having the perfect eyeliner line when I went to work. But, last week the new Urban Decay Naked Smokey palette arrived in my mailbox and I have worn a different makeup look ever since.

Y'all it's perfect. I'm such an eye makeup geek and I had so much fun playing around with colors when I was getting ready to go out last Saturday night. I like that half the colors are shimmery, and half are matte. Ahhhh I just think it's so pretty, like even the packaging is cool!!

My favorite eyeshadow combinations so far are:

"High" on lid, "Armor" in crease, "Black Market" as liner

"Thirteen" on inner eye corner and brow bone, "Combust" on lid, "Password" in crease and outer V, "Black Market" as liner

"Dagger" on lid, "Black Market" in crease, outer V, and lower lash line, and "Slanted" in inner eye corner

style + tickled pink

I never really frequent Tuckernuck, but when I saw this dress I had to have it. I do love a good pop of color (I used to be the Pink and Green Prep after all), and neon in the summer is a great choice to break up my usual blue and white.

Where will I wear this? I don't know. Formals? Date functions? Probably...who cares though. It's so cute and crazy flattering. Probably won't have my tan when I actually wear this for real but oh well.

style + my sunglass picks

I'm not a shoe or bag person, but I am definitely a sunglasses person. I always have a couple of pairs with me and I think they're the best way to finish a great outfit.

The Classic Everyone needs a classic aviator. It goes with everything, just make sure to get it tightened every so often because the Ray-Ban version definitely stretches out.

Darties and Parties I have a pair of plastic tortoiseshell aviators and they are the best. I typically wear them when I'm tailgating and day partying.

Current Obsession I bought a pair of Clubmasters earlier this year and since then I have probably worn them the most. I feel so cool when I wear them!

Summer Go-To Loooove the blue mirrored sunglasses. No one can see your eyes and you can watch people checking out their own reflections.

how to wear + black jumpsuit

one: jumpsuit | wedges | necklace
two: jumpsuit | sandals | choker
three: jumpsuit | hoops | heels
I recently bought the Tobi jumpsuit shown above and I can't wait to wear it. It honestly feels like I'm wearing pajamas. I like black jumpsuits because given the right shoes and accessories you can wear them casually or when you're going out.

style + mix and match

At the beginning of the summer I bought J. McLaughlin lace shorts and they've really been put into good use since! Lace shorts are a great addition to every girls ideal Pinterest-esque wardrobe.

I looove chambray shirts, especially if they're oversized. I have some from J. Crew, Ralph Lauren, and Old Navy (shown above). While I would usually wear a tank top with lace shorts, pairing them with a chambray shirt is great for a more comfortable and relaxed look.

style + the lilly romper

Lilly definitely does rompers well. Last year I got the Deena Tank Top Romper in a blue print, but this year I wanted to try something a little brighter and more Lilly-esque.

This is the most comfortable romper ever. It's so easy to dress up and dress down, and it's perfect for summer.

style + gladiator sandals

one | two | three | four
I'm on the search for the perfect gladiator sandal. I'm not even opposed to the kind the tie up your entire calf. That being said, I turned to the lovely internet to choose my top picks. I get my paycheck maybe I'll be buying one of the options shown above?

style + how to wear a black t-shirt dress

look one: sunglasses | bag | sandals | necklace
look two: sunglasses | tote | hat
look three: sunglasses | necklace | crossbody | chucks

A good black t-shirt dress is extremely versatile and will last you a longgg time. Places like Forever 21, H&M, ASOS, and Tobi have nice options if you're looking for something in a cheaper price range. I would rather wear a less expensive dress and then dress it up with investment bags, shoes, or jewelry.

lifestyle + back to the city

On Sunday I made my grand return to New York City to visit my little again. But, this time my grand-little joined us! It was a nice sorority-lineage themed reunion.

This was my first time visiting Brooklyn. Tbh I hadn't heard much about it besides what Blair Waldorf said about it in Gossip Girl. I had so much fun and I definitely will be returning.

We went to brunch at a little place called the Iris CafĂ©.

I ordered the Housemade Ricotta, which was essentially ricotta cheese with honey on an english muffin. It was SO GOOD I could literally have brunch for three meals a day and be happy, sorry not sorry I'm that basic.

My obsession with French bulldogs is more like a daily activity. Had to take a picture withs some on the street....

We went to an outdoor food fair called Smorgasburg and it was great! Considering it was a million degrees outside (no exaggeration) we opted for popsicles.

Can't wait to go back!
